The chq building is a Grade One listed building situated within the highly successful International Financial Services Area (IFSC) in the Dublin Docklands. Built in 1821 by John Rennie, Stack A as it was formerly known was as a tobacco and wine warehouse, it is one of the finest pieces of 19th Century architecture in Ireland.

The chq building is only minutes from the city centre and is well served by an extensive transport network. This includes intercity trains, a fast commuter train service (Dart), Dublin Bus services and a light rail network (Luas). Click here for directions

Events & Exhibition spaces

Continuing the tradition of spectacular events, the Docklands Authority has developed a dedicated state of the art event and exhibition space within the chq building. The 3 spaces, the mall, the galleria and the vaults, can accommodate guests for a range of dynamic events from exhibitions of contemporary interior design, visual art, photography, fashion to product launches, lectures and seminars, corporate events, seasonal themed events and much more!

Docklands Fact

The original Jeanie Johnston was built in 1847. As the famine gripped Ireland, the owners carried fleeing Irish emigrants to North America. It made 16 voyages in total, carrying 2,500 Irish emigrants. The fare to Quebec was £3.10.
