Extension of time to inspect and make submissions or observations on the Draft Master Plan 2008
In accordance with the provisions of Sections 20(1)(a) and 24 of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority Act, 1997, the Dublin Docklands Development Authority prepared a Master Plan for the Dublin Docklands Area which was first published in 1997, and updated by the Master Plan 2003. The Authority is now reviewing and updating the Master Plan and has prepared a Draft Master Plan 2008. The Draft Master Plan 2008 consists of a written statement and plan indicating the objectives for:
i. the social and economic regeneration of the Dublin Docklands Area, on a sustainable basis,
ii. improvements in the physical environment of the Dublin Docklands Area, and
iii. the continued development in the Custom House Docks Area of services for, in support of or ancillary to the financial sector of the economy.
An Environmental Report has been prepared on the Draft Master Plan 2008 in accordance with Section 9(8)(c) of the European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004. An Appropriate Assessment of the implications of the Draft Master Plan on Natura 2000 sites has been completed (in accordance with Article 6(3) of the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC).
The Draft Master Plan and the associated Environmental Report have been available for inspection and purchase and on display since the 23rd of June 2008. However, the Appropriate Assessment has only been available and on display since the 5th of August 2008. For this reason the Authority is extending the formal period for display and inspection from Thursday 7th August 2008 for a month until Monday the 8th of September 2008. In addition, the period for submissions and observations is being extended until the Tuesday 23rd of September 2008.
The Authority now invites submissions or observations on the Draft Master Plan 2008, the associated Environmental Report and Appropriate Assessment which will be considered by the Authority before the Master Plan as reviewed and updated is adopted.
The Draft Master Plan 2008, the associated Environmental Report and Appropriate Assessment will be available for inspection at the Dublin Docklands Development Authority's former offices at Custom House Quay, Docklands, Dublin 1, from Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5pm and to 8.30pm on Tuesdays (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays).
