90,000 Visitors attend Dublin's Docklands
The recent '12 Days of Christmas' Market' at Dublin's Docklands proved especially popular this year with an impressive 90,000 visitors over the 12 days.
Now in its fourth year, the charming yuletide event once again offered visitors a magical festival experience in a unique waterside village setting with over 80 market traders selling a range of Christmas gifts, seasonal food and stocking fillers.
All of the traders reported a high rate of sales especially for some of the more unusual gift ideas located in the conservatories including craft jewellery, stained glass giftware, wooden toys, beauty products and leather ware to a unique selection of home accessories including mirrors, lamps and art.
A new addition to the 2008 festival was Santa's Grotto in the chq building which attracted 2,000 visits during the festival.
In addition to the great shopping visitors also enjoyed a variety of seasonal attractions. Back by popular demand was the beautifully restored showpiece ‘Galloping Horses' Carousel and other fairground attractions as well as face painting for adults and children alike. And, to ensure a really festive atmosphere, carol singers and bands were on hand on selected days to perform a feel good selection of Christmas favourites.
