Fundraising Bungee Jump in aid of Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland
Date:28-11-2009 - 28-11-2009
Time:8:00 - 16:00
Venue:The chq building
Tickets:N/A
Box Office:N/A
Description:

The jump will be taking place at chq on Saturday from 9am until 5pm and time slots are not allocated. The company providing the bungee is Bungee Ireland, they previously held a similar bungee jump at the same venue two years ago and it was a great success. The jump is 60 metres high and will be over the water (although jumpers will not be ‘dunked').

Jumpers are required to raise €300 to take part (or as close to this as possible in order to cover all costs and still raise money for the charity). We ask that you bring your sponsorship card and money along on the day for registration prior to your bungee jump.

About SBHI
Spina Bifida is a relatively common condition, which affects about one in every 1000 children born per year in Ireland. Ireland has one of the highest incidences of Spina Bifida births in the world. Spina Bifida is the most common neural tube defect (NTD) which causes incomplete development of the spinal cord.

SBHI was established in 1968 by a small group of parents whose children had Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus. The charity was established to promote the care, welfare, interest, treatment, education, advancement and rehabilitation of persons with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

Today, SBHI has over 1,500 members and has branches in all four provinces, as well as a professionally run National Resource Centre based in Clondalkin, Dublin 22. SBHI provides information, support and advice to people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus, and to their parents, siblings, and carers, while also continuing to lobby the Government to improve services and access for the disabled.
